TRI-COUNTY ASSOCIATION H.E.L.P., Inc. is your voice for issues and legislation involving septic systems. It was founded by homeowners, homeowner associations, small business owners, civic leaders, and industry professionals in real estate, home building, etc. In all respects, we are you. For several years, this organization was simply a spontaneous grassroots movement. That movement is now a formal organization dedicated and prepared to represent your interests in the state legislature and in the TRI-County Area encompassing Lake, Orange and Seminole Counties.

Homeowner Property Rights. The Department of Health, Bureau of On-Site Sewage is the agency responsible for the rules and regulations that govern the permitting and inspection of septic systems and the certification of those installing and servicing our septic systems. TRI-County Association monitors and attends the meetings of the DOH Bureau of On-Site Sewage so that the rule-making governing our septic systems respects our property rights, protects the value of our property, and preserves the financial well-being of our homeowners and businesses. Our focus is making sure that the efforts of the Dept. of Health to introduce nutrient reducing septic solutions are necessary, cost-effective, affordable, and proven. |
|
E |
Environment. TRI-County Association attends Florida Department of Environmental Protection meetings and monitors the actions and progress of the agency’s Basin Management Action Plans (BMAP). Our focus with FDEP is making sure the agency can scientifically demonstrate that a measurable environmental benefit can be achieved as a result of their nutrient reduction efforts. |
|
L |
Legislation. TRI-County members have covered committee meetings, issued position statements, interacted with legislators and other affiliated groups to help develop or modify bills, organized e-mail campaigns to support or protest legislation, informed homeowners and other interested parties of pending legislation, involved the press, and more. Our focus with legislators is to make sure that laws formulated to protect the environment have merit, produce a benefit that justifies the cost to the homeowner, and in all cases, protects the homeowners’ property investment and rights. |
|
P |
Policy. With your help and your financial support, TRI-County Association can and will influence policies impacting septic systems that are set at the highest levels of our state government. |
We count on our growing base of supporters to increase our effectiveness and fund our efforts to represent your interests. Membership is only $10/yr. Contributions above that amount are welcome. TRI-County’s Board of Directors and our Board of Advisors are volunteers. Membership dues cover the expenses we incur for travel to Tallahassee, legal assistance, lobbying efforts, membership meeting costs, publications, web presence, etc.
